The 2025 British Superbike pre-season has not been going as Tommy Bridewell expected after Navarra and Donington Park.

Tommy Bridewell's 2025 British Superbike pre-season has not exactly gone to plan. The Honda Racing UK rider has not been at the same pace as his expected title rivals.

The 2023 British Superbike Champion narrowly missed out on the title in 2024 and is expected to fight again in 2025. However, he has admitted that this pre-season has not gone as he anticipated it would.

At the end of day one at the Donington Park Test, Bridewell suffered a big crash at turn one in mixed conditions. Bridewell has labelled the crash as 'a bit silly', but he has learnt from his mistake.

"I’m alright, yeah, all good, just one of them really, it is what it is," Bridewell told BikeSport News at Donington Park.

"It was a bit silly, really going out in truth, but we learn from our mistakes, I guess. It is a new bike today compared to yesterday, but the general feeling on the bike is not amazing at the minute, but that is part of testing it is rare for me to go into testing and be happy with everything.

"I am always working to find ways to move forward and make steps with the bike. So, it will be different when we go to race for sure and when the lights go out. But at the moment, we have a lot of work to do."

When asked about whether his testing plan as a whole from Navarra and Donington Park had been going to plan, the Honda Racing UK rider stated that his testing plan had 'not been going great'.

"No, not great at the minute," Bridewell admitted.

"We are testing a load of stuff, but we are not getting the direction or feeling that I was anticipating. In some areas we have made a big step forward, other areas we are a bit behind on. So, it is them sort of things that we need to iron out."

During the opening day of the Oulton Park Test on the 23rd of April, Bridewell continued to find himself further down the timesheets. The 36-year-old ended the day in 11th place on the combined times and was nearly 1.2 seconds behind Ray's best lap.
