'The front feeling was a disaster' - Marc Marquez details his lack of feeling at the British Grand Prix

Gold & Goose

Marc Marquez labels himself as 'super lucky' after a difficult British Grand Prix.

After qualifying on the second row and finishing second in the Sprint Race at the British Grand Prix, Marc Marquez had looked off form at Silverstone.

The Grand Prix started with disaster for Marquez as he crashed at Maggots and Becketts on the second lap of the race.

However, he was 'super lucky' as at the same time the red flag was shown, so he could restart the race from his original grid slot.

Marquez was able to finish the restarted race in third place, but he continued to make mistakes after the second start.

"Today we were super lucky, I made a mistake, so I am angry," Marquez said after standing on the podium at the British Grand Prix.

"It is true that we finished third, and that we finished in front of our main contender for the Championship.

"But I am angry with myself because I made a mistake at Turn 11. I know why, because on the first lap I was super cautious there, on the next lap I took more risks.

"As I took more risk, a massive gust of wind occurred, which pushed me out, and I lost the front. But I was super lucky with the red flag.

"The second start gave me another opportunity, but I made another mistake. We finished third, so I am happy with the result, but I am unhappy with the feeling."

Marquez explained that his front feeling at the British Grand Prix had been 'terrible', but he was able to 'save the day' with a podium.

"That front tyre today had terrible feeling," he explained when asked about looking uncomfortable on the Ducati.

"With the front as a whole, the feeling was a disaster; for that reason, we went with the soft tyre yesterday.

"Today, most of the grid went with the medium; we know the medium was not working well, but for some riders and manufacturers, it was the only way to finish the race.

"That feeling today was not the best one, but we saved the day."
