Francesco Bagnaia is hopeful he can fight back at the Dutch TT this weekend after finding some positives at Mugello.

The Italian Grand Prix had been a disappointing weekend for Francesco Bagnaia as he failed to win at his home Grand Prix for the first time since 2021.

Bagnaia was only able to finish third in the Sprint Race and fourth in the Grand Prix, but he believes there are positives to take from Mugello.

"I just want to focus on the positives, and we had positives at Mugello," Bagnaia told MotoGP.com ahead of the Dutch TT.

"We calmed my bike a bit, and it was more stable, so this is great. I was able to fight against Marc for the first time this season, just for seven laps, but it is better than zero.

"These are the positives, I just want to start from these and try to enjoy this weekend because it is one of the best tracks for me."

The Dutch TT has been a successful event for the factory Ducati rider, as he has won at the TT Circuit Assen across the last three seasons.

Bagnaia is hopeful that he will be competitive this season and believes this Grand Prix is arriving at the right time.

"Like always, look for the positives and enjoy," he said.

"I think this track is arriving at the correct moment. The situation is not the best, but we are rising back.

"We just want to enjoy and work, maybe in a different way, but we want to be competitive and be prepared for the races."

The 28-year-old went on to discuss what changes he made to his Ducati at the Italian Grand Prix to make the front end more stable.

"It was a bit better because it was more stable," he explained.

"This season, I am struggling with the movement from the front, and this is the first time it has happened, so we were not prepared to solve it.

"We changed some little details in Mugello, which have helped me a bit. For this race weekend, we will try to go in the same direction, and maybe it will help more."
