Deniz Oncu has reportedly reached a 'full agreement' with the ELF Marc VDS Racing Team for the 2026 Moto2 season.
For the first time in his career in the Grand Prix paddock, Deniz Oncu has been forced into a move away from the Red Bull KTM family.
Ever since he made his full-time debut in the Moto3 World Championship in 2020, Oncu has been within a Red Bull KTM squad after starting out with Tech3 before moving onto Ajo in recent years.
Across his six years within the Red Bull KTM banner, Oncu has stood on 17 podiums across the Moto2 and Moto3 World Championships, including his two Moto2 and three Moto3 wins.
However, with Jose Antonio Rueda being promoted from the Moto3 Red Bull KTM Ajo squad to the Moto2 team, Oncu has been left out of the Finnish squad's plans for 2026.
The Turkish rider's current teammate, Collin Veijer, signed a two-year deal with Ajo when he joined the Moto2 squad at the start of the 2025 season. Placing both Rueda and Veijer as the Red Bull KTM Ajo Moto2 riders in 2026.
Despite being left out, it has now been reported by Sky Sports Italia that Oncu will remain in the Moto2 World Championship next season.
It had originally been rumoured that Oncu would look to move across to the bLU cRU Pramac Yamaha Moto2 squad. However, that rumour turned out to be false, and instead the 22-year-old and his manager, Kenan Sofuoglu, have been in contact with the ELF Marc VDS Racing Team.
According to Sky Sports Italia, Oncu and Marc VDS have reached a full agreement and will sign the contract when the Turkish rider is back from injury.
The Belgian team appear to be replacing their entire 2025 Moto2 rider line-up for the 2026 season. Aron Canet has already been announced for the 2026 season with the team, and Jake Dixon and Filip Salac have both been linked with moves elsewhere.
