Andrea Iannone has hit back at Toprak Razgatlioglu's claims that he held up the BMW rider in Race Two at Estoril.
After Race Two at the Estoril World Superbike Round, Toprak Razgatlioglu accused the Ducati riders of ganging up on him at the Portuguese circuit.
The two-time World Superbike Champion spoke about a lack of respect from his fellow riders towards his battle with Nicolo Bulega for the 2025 Championship.
Razgatlioglu then went on to make further comments to the media, specifically aimed at Andrea Iannone. The Turkish rider believes Iannone purposefully slowed him after earning a double long lap penalty, to allow Nicolo Bulega to escape at the front.
"Iannone received a penalty and did a good job," Razgatlioglu told Speedweek.com.
"I overtook him, then he tried to counter. Why is he trying to fight with me when he has a long-lap penalty?
"The Ducati also have a dashboard, right? Later, it became clear to me, because he rides a Ducati."
After Razgatlioglu's claims, Andrea Iannone took to Instagram on Sunday evening to respond to the Turkish rider.
"Dear Toprak," Iannone wrote, "You’re a very talented, smart, and strong rider.
"I have great respect for you and your team. I just want to make one thing clear: I always go out on track to win and give my best just like you do.
"It’s crazy to think I’d ever make a jump start on purpose to penalise you. I’d never do that. I’d never start a race to help someone or to ruin my own.
"We both come to the races with the same goal. Good luck.
"See you in Jerez."
