After withdrawing from the Portuguese Grand Prix, Raul Fernandez is hopeful to be back on track next weekend in Valencia.
Raul Fernandez has detailed his plan to return to racing after being forced to miss the Portuguese Grand Prix.
After a crash on Friday morning, Fernandez was forced to sit out of the Sprint Race and Grand Prix at the Portuguese Grand Prix on Saturday and Sunday.
During his crash at Turn One, the Australian Grand Prix winner suffered a dislocated shoulder, which then caused him to withdraw from the event before Qualifying after taking part in Free Practice Two on Saturday morning.
On Sunday at Portimao, the Spaniard told MotoGP that he is aiming to be back on track next weekend at the Valencian Grand Prix, as he wants to be able to participate in the post-season test at Valencia on the 18th of November.
"Now I feel much better," Raul Fernandez told MotoGP world feed on the grid at Portimao ahead of the Portuguese Grand Prix.
"But it’s true that on Friday I had a very big crash and I felt super-bad with the shoulder because I had a [disclocation] on the shoulder. It means that the recovery is minimum three or four days.
"Maybe to think to race here was possible, with a lot of pain, but we were thinking more on Valencia to try to be there to make the test on Tuesday that will be very important.
"At the end, we were thinking about Valencia and about the Valencia test."
