Raul Fernandez ended a breakthrough 2025 MotoGP season with a podium in the Valencia Grand Prix.
At the Valencia Grand Prix, Raul Fernandez was able to end his 2025 MotoGP season on a high note as he finished in second place for Trackhouse Racing.
It was not expected that the Spaniard would be in the fight at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo, as last week at Portimao, he dislocated his shoulder in a heavy crash during Friday Practice.
However, on the same day that his brother [Adrian Fernandez] won the Moto3 race, Raul Fernandez took his second Grand Prix podium of the weekend.
"I am very happy, I am still not 100% with my shoulder, but I tried to make my 100%," Fernandez told TNT Sports after the final race of the season.
"If somebody had told me a week ago that I would be fighting for the victory, I would not have believed it. I think this is all down to teamwork, because my team are always trying to support me, my family, and I think this podium is not for me or my team, but more for my parents. Because they have both of their children on the podium, Adrian [Fernandez] won his first Moto3 race, so I am very happy. I want to come back and enjoy myself with them.
"This year has been very long, so I will need some rest, and after that, we will see, and we will have to prepare well for 2026. I don’t think we are ready to fight for the title, it is too optimistic, but we are ready to make this kind of race. I need more experience before I fight for something more."
'Together we have started to create this confidence...'
After a difficult start to the 2025 season, it was reported that Raul Fernandez had made changes to himself throughout the year. However, the 25-year-old does not believe he changed too much throughout the season.
"I don’t think I have changed a lot," he explained.
"The beginning of the season was quite difficult for me. But when you have this type of problem, you know very well how your family, how your team, your crew, your personal trainer, and your manager. This kind of thing, when you have a bad memory, they try to support you.
"Together we have started to create this confidence, it was not easy, but now when I ride I enjoy it a lot. Maybe this is the key to be back stronger."
