John Holden is set to make his return to the Isle of Man TT in 2026 after missing the 2025 event.
Holden will drive a DMR Yamaha backed by Carl Cox Motorsport at this year’s TT, with Phil Hyde as passenger.
Both are experienced at the TT road races, and Holden – whose debut came in 1988 – is twice a winner. Hyde’s (who debuted in 2013) best result as passenger, on the other hand, is fifth place, achieved three times as passenger to Gary Bryan.
Holden will also be competing against his son, George Holden, this year, the 33-year-old heaving made his debut in 2025
“We’re here to challenge people’s expectations and hopefully make history,” said Holden.
“Beating George [Holden] would be a tall order, but I do have the experience over him. Phil [Hyde] and I have a lot of laps between us, and we’ve proved before that you can be competitive without having the most horsepower.”
“There is nothing like the TT. Fiona [Holden, John’s wife] encouraged me to come back, and I’m also really looking forward to doing a parade lap with her; that will be very special, especially as she has unfinished business from 2018.”
Phil Hyde added: “I’ve missed the TT enormously. When John [Holden] asked me to join him, I didn’t hesitate.
“We both know what’s required around the Mountain Course to put a good lap together.”
Holden and Hyde are not the only confirmed returning Sidecar entrants this year, after Tim Reeves announced his return in 2026 in February.
