Kyle Ryde has been BSB’s dominant force this year and carries a 30-point lead to round seven at Thruxton, where he has a new motivation to win.

Ryde has won at least one race at every round so far this season, and has finished every race on the podium.

While second or third would do reasonably nicely for Ryde this weekend with his points margin over Scott Redding looking how it does after six rounds, the Nitrous Competitions Ducati rider is keen to stand on the top step at least once for the seventh round in succession.

A victory for him in Race 1 at Thruxton last year was his first in BSB at the Hampshire circuit, and contributed to Yamaha’s current 15-race unbeaten run there in the Superbike class.

Having switched to Ducati for this season, though, it’s ending that run for the R1 that is now Ryde’s priority.

“I am obviously ready to go to Thruxton and the main objective is to keep this run of form going,” he told BritishSuperbike.com.

“Leaving Thruxton with three trophies would be amazing given the good run that Yamaha has had in the last four years!

“I am determined to get at least one win there so it stops the little run of form for the last four years, but my main objective is to carry on this form and try to beat Scott [Redding] as many times as possible and keep it sunny side up. 

“I am looking forward to getting back to the fastest track in the UK and hopefully it is all great racing like it normally is there and we have a safe and good weekend.”
