Valentino Rossi has this evening confirmed he will use the 'long and low' setup favoured by team-mate Nicky Hayden for the Estoril MotoGP weekend to see if that, plus a change to his riding style, will fix the corner entry problem he continues to struggle with.

The Doctor went into the Jerez race using Hayden's data, a shot in the dark if you will, and found he had a better rhythm towards the end of the 27-lapper so will concentrate on using it as a base to go forward from first free practice.

"We are trying to understand how to arrive at 100 per cent with this bike and this setting. We have two different settings from the beginning. In general, the bike of Nicky is long and low, and mine is bit more high and short. This is the difference, speaking in an easy way. The performance of Nicky are better than us in these two races so it means that setting is better," said Rossi, speaking to bikesportnews.com this evening.

"That setting is more close to what the Ducati needs for be fast. This setting should help me more for entering the corner where I want and especially with higher speed. This was the bigger problem with the other setting. From this level, we have to work for try to improve some other problems in acceleration but we saw that without enough speed in the entry, I suffer very very much."
