Britain's Danny Kent and Denny Webb both crashed out of this morning's Moto3 race in soaking conditions in a race won by home-town hero Louis Rossi when only 15 bikes finished a race of attrition.
Kent went down after 15 minutes while Webb crashed not long after, re-mounted but was forced to retire his Mahindra and was forced to watch team-mate Marcel Schrotter finish 12th and in the points.
The race was a case of last man standing as Brad Binder and Niki Ajo were the first to go down on lap one, quickly followed by Jonas Folger and Alexis Masbou while Hector Faubel and Luis Salom took up the running.
Italian wunderkind Romano Fenati was next to tip off, hurting his championship chances, while Miguel Olivera and Maverick Vinales joined the leading pack, along with Jakub Kornfiel but Faubel lobbed it out of the lead with 11 laps to go and Salom followed suit soon after.
His crash handed the lead to Portugese rider Olivera but he was in the gravel not long after, so it was left to Vinales to take up the running - which he did but only for a couple of laps as he crashed out as Rossi could sniff a win in front of his home crowd.
As more and more riders fell, Alberto Moncayo and Alex Rins came through to bag the podium spots as series leader Sandro Cortese crashed but managed to re-mount for a handful of points.
