Repsol Honda's MotoGP pairing of Dani Pedrosa and Casey Stoner have both criticised the new Bridgestone front tyre they are forced to use from the Silverstone round as it causes more chatter in the front of RC213V just as they found a way to reduce it at the back.
Pedrosa stated the move to the new-spec tyre, which has a softer construction but harder compound, was simply unfair on the Honda riders while Stoner, who was slightly more pragmatic, said he didn't like the tyre but would work around it.
"We spent the test getting the new tyre working. We did many laps on the new front, we try several things to try to fix the issues. We have many problems now, much more chattering with this front. It looks like it is only good for some people. For us, it is impossible to ride good and it's an unfair situation. It is only fair for some riders but not Honda," said Pedrosa, speaking to bikesportnews.com at Montmelo.
Stoner added: "I really don't like it. It hasn't slowed us up, if we'd put a new tyre on we could have gone a lot quicker. We will make our bike work around it but it has definitely created more chatter in the front now. After we've solved some of the rear chatter, we got some more in the front. That's just down to the tyre and we will have to work with that."
