MotoGP Aragon: Cold tyre cause of Rossi crash

Ducati's Valentino Rossi has attributed his qualifying crash at the Motorland Aragon MotoGP round today to a cold front front tyre.

The Doctor went down at the start of the run and said that the Bridgestone was probably not up to temperature and that he had lifted the front wheel just before and it might not have had enough contact with the ground when he went to turn.

"I think it was the first flying lap, the first right corner and the front tyre was not enough on the temperature. I had a small wheelie in the change of direction, maybe the front was not touching the ground enough and I lose the front," said Rossi, speaking at Aragon this evening.

"Tomorrow we’ll have to decide between a couple of setting options. Let’s hope that the warm-up session will be dry so that we’ll have the opportunity to improve the setup a little bit. Then in the race we’ll see what pace we’re actually able to do.”
