Larger Moto2 riders like Britain's Scott Redding will be breathing a sigh of relief after MotoGP bosses have confirmed there will be a minimum weight in the class next year.
In order to stop whippet-jockeys like Marc Marquez having a massive speed advantage because they weigh 20 kilos less than the likes of Redding, the combined bike and rider, including the rider’s protective equipment, on bike camera and other added ancilliaries must weight at least 215kg.
This rule will also stop some Moto2 riders losing huge amounts of mass in order to give them some sort of perceived advantage.
