MotoGP Aragon: Pedrosa talks Marquez incident

Repsol Honda's Dani Pedrosa has given his view on the incident during today's Motorland Aragon MotoGP race which resulted in him being pinged off his RC213V and ending up in the medical centre.

The Spaniard was just touched by young team-mate Marc Marquez and by a freak of lpoor uck, Pedrosa's rear wheel speed sensor cable was disconnected, leaving him with no traction control. Pedrosa didn't directly accuse Marquez of riding dangerously but talked about it in a roundabout way.

"In the entry of the corner Marc was too aggressive so he missed the braking. He tried to avoid me and touch me on the back of the bike a little bit and in this touch he, I don't know how, cut my cable that controls the traction control so I had no more control on the back. Immediately after I touch the gas and what I remember is flying," said Pedrosa, speaking at Aragon.

"You saw what happen. In many, many other occasions nothing happen but it is a shame today to talk about things after. We have already some experience in the past of some riders and unfortunately it didn't end up very well. I think it is always the same story, it is always too late afterwards.

"I am still able to be here now. It could be much worse. It's zero points. It's mot my fault, I was in shape to win the race and there was a good chance today. There are things I can't control."

Pedrosa was asked whether he thought Marquez should be penalised for the incident, but said it was up to race direction, not him, to dole out punishments.

"It's not in my hands to do this. It's not in my hands to think or judge. There is a part of this paddock that works on this so they have to consider what they will consider. The limit is when one guy puts in danger other guys," he continued.

"You can ride over the limit and do these kind of mistakes because there are also some riders who are taking care of this - not to crash into someone. Many of us could be more aggressive and many of us could be touching other riders but we don't do it. The limit is where one guy puts in danger the other guy. We can't have mirrors.

"I want to know where the limit is, so I can play with that limit also. The limit has to be for everybody in the same way so if everything could be valid because it is more fun, then everybody should have the chance to be free. I am not talking specifically about Marc, just in general, as things have happened before today."
