Former MotoGP world champion Nicky Hayden is expecting good things from Honda's RCV1000R production racer that he will ride for the first time at Valencia on Monday.
The American, who has his last race with Ducati on Sunday, will take one of two available bikes - which Honda say lapped 0.3s slower than the RC213V in the hands of Casey Stoner - while Scott Redding will ride the other.
"Honda have said they are very happy with the bike. I will have to try the bike on Monday and see the level of it. For me, I have come from some difficult seasons and I know every year in MotoGP it gets harder and harder so I need to try it and see what I can do," said Hayden, speaking at Valencia.
"I have seen pictures of the bike and it looks very nice. I have a lot of confidence. I have seen Honda when they get serious about making bikes, they make really nice stuff so for sure I expect a lot from it."
