Knockhill BSB: ‘I ride better when I’m injured’ – Walker

GBmoto Kawasaki’s Chris Walker managed to out-pace the likes of his team-mate James Ellison and Milwaukee Yamaha's Josh Brookes to bag the third step on the podium in the final MCE British Superbike race at Knockhill this afternoon.

But the housewives favourite was riding with a broken little finger, but the pain did not put him off that much, as he was able to come away with some valuable podium credits, and is still in Showdown contention after rounding off the top five in the first race. His good performance has left Walker a very content rider this evening.

“To be honest I thought that race two would be a bit much more difficult and I was thinking I would get a fifth or sixth at best. I didn’t have the best of starts, but I got the better of Easton early on which was important," said Walker at the circuit.

“I saw Brookesy behind me so I thought that I would just keep going faster. In the first race I had trouble keeping the bike wide open because I broke my finger on Friday, but the crew worked well to make the bike better for me, and I am back on the podium which is great. But the finger is OK, it is just a little bit uncomfortable, and I tend to ride better when I am injured.”
