Movistar Yamaha’s Valentino Rossi has explained some of the reasons behind his two-year MotoGP contract extension and said the most exciting part was the change of electronics and tyres in 2016.
The Doctor, who put pen to paper with Yamaha a week ago, thinks the switch to full control electronics and a change to Michelin spec-tyres from Bridgestone means the series will start from the beginning.
“I wanted very much to make two years with Yamaha because I want to try the 2016 bikes. I think MotoGP will change very much after next year because two of the most crucial things, electronics and tyres, will be different,” said Rossi, speaking at the Sachsenring.
“Maybe it will be another type of riding style, another way to control the bike, it can change very much, like the year zero.”
