Oulton BSB: Mossey sticks with test set-up for opening free practices

Quattro Plant Kawasaki’s Luke Mossey set the second fastest time during the MCE British Superbike free practice sessions at Oulton Park, and kept the same set-up that he used during the official test at the Cheshire track last week.

The Cambridgeshire rider did want additional wet track time, and Mossey was hoping to get more laps on the ZX-10R in damp conditions, but he is feeling confident that the bike is working well.

Mossey and his team feel that they need to make minimal improvements to the bike for tomorrow’s final free practice session and ultimately for qualifying on Sunday afternoon. But the weather is meant to be unpredictable so the rider is unsure what the conditions will be like on track.

“If I am honest we would rather the wet track because we haven’t had really any wet time on this bike and it would have been more suitable if we had a wet practice. But I am happy with P2 and we had the same settings as last week so bike is feeling good and I don’t think we can make anymore improvements on the bike and will crack on tomorrow afternoon,” said Mossey, speaking to bikesportnews.com.

“I just need time on it in the rain, but with the weather conditions tomorrow we just need to get on with it and see where we end up, but I am feeling confident and the bike is working well.

“If it is wet we can hopefully scrape through tomorrow, but if it is dry we are looking for a front row. We ended up P6 after the end of the test here and I don’t think there is much more we really need to do now.”
