Jake Dixon will remain with Lee Hardy’s RAF BMW team for the remainder of this year’s MCE British Superbike season after an impressive first outing at Knockhill.
Dixon tested the bike at Snetterton before making his debut north of the border and showed determination when he bounced back from a crash - involving his manager Shane Byrne no less - to take 13th place in appalling conditions.
“I am happy to share that I will be riding for Lee Hardy Racing, Briggs Equipment BMW for the remainder of the season in the British Superbike championship. I would like to thank Lee Hardy and Briggs Equipment for giving me this opportunity, I feel that I have been getting to grips with the Briggs Equipment BMW S1000RR really well,” said the Kent man.
Hardy added: “I am very pleased with Jake’s first real deal display on a British Superbike, he has shown a professional attitude and done everything I have asked of him as a team manager, it was very unfortunate that he was taken out in race one then collected by another rider, this situation could have been potentially a lot worse, to get on the bike for race two showed real guts and determination. Overall I am very impressed with how the weekend panned out and I am looking forward to Snetterton which is also the team’s local circuit.”
