Honda’s Ducati-style swingarm wing has been approved at the second time of asking by MotoGP technical director Danny Aldridge at the Termas de Rio Hondo circuit in Argentina.
The small winglet, which was attached to the bottom of the GP19, was the subject of much debate after the factory Honda, Suzuki, Aprilia and KTM sides all lodged a formal complaint.
After going to the FIM Court of Appeals, the piece was deemed legal and the matter was seemingly settled.
However, on Thursday Honda revealed their very own version of the piece to Aldridge. The piece was subsequently rejected. This prompted HRC to make amendments to their version of the piece, which was subsequently approved on Friday.
With the seal of approval from Aldridge, Honda can now fit their own piece to their bikes and use for the remained of the weekend from Saturday.
