Assen BSB: Injured Easton to sit out double-header

PBM Kawasaki's Stuart Easton will take no further part in this weekend's race activities at Assen. He will sit out the MCE British Superbike double-header as he's still recovering from a leg injury.

The Scottish rider took to the track for some of the free practice sessions and for qualifying, but he couldn't find the lap times that he needed to progress in to Q2, and would have had to have started race-one from 25th on the grid.

Easton sustained a broken leg after a big crash at Brands Hatch, and even though he attempted a comeback at Oulton Park, (whilst in Showdown contention)  he experienced another fall at the Cheshire circuit and did not take part in the rest of the weekend.

The Hawick rider slipped out of the top six, and was seventh in the overall standings coming into the Dutch round. He damaged his  knee ligaments at the Brands crash too, and that is still causing him a lot of pain so both him and his team have decided that it is best to sit out the two races this afternoon.
