BRANDS BSB: HASLAM TO RIDE THROUGH THE PAIN

HM Plant Honda's Leon Haslam will have to ride through the pain at today's Brands Hatch British Superbike finale after he damaged his collarbone in a highside during yesterday's qualifying.

Haslam, who is riding in British Superbikes for the final time next year, hurt his right collarbone during the crash at Surtees and has been taking painkillers during the night.

“The crash was my own fault, although the track wasn’t in the best condition. I highsided coming out of Surtees but luckily still had 20 minutes to get back to the pits and get into the top 20 in the Roll for Pole," said the 25-year-old.

"Then in the final session I managed to put the bike in P2 and to be honest I was a little surprised. My race pace should be good as it was pretty unbelievable on Friday. I’m just struggling a little with the damage to my right collarbone. The change of direction is the hardest thing to handle and I may be strapped up for the race. Let’s see what happens.”
