Honda Racing’s Dan Linfoot struggled during the MCE British Superbike qualifying at the Brands Hatch GP track, and couldn’t find the pace that was quick enough to make it out of Q1 this afternoon.
The rider tried his best to put down a fast last-lap dash, but to no avail and he couldn’t push in to the second qualifying session, and has to start race one from 23rd on the grid.
The last time Linfoot was at the circuit he suffered a massive high-side during a free practice outing and broke his wrist, but he can’t quite believe that he didn’t make it into Q3, and is in shock after missing out on being inside the top ten fastest times today.
But his team will continue to work hard to make his Fireblade competitive going into the double-header at the circuit on Sunday, and Linfoot is confident that he can regain his quick pace tomorrow.
“Obviously I’m disappointed with qualifying this afternoon. Honestly from the bottom of my heart I didn’t expect to be this weak this weekend, Knockhill was a bad round with the crashes etc, but I had a good few weeks before Brands training and I love riding here,” said Linfoot.
“I expected to come here and be strong and in the top-ten. It’s a big shock to be out of the top-20 all weekend and frustrating. But we’ve got to keep working, look at the data and see how we can come through this.”
