Bradley Ray’s two wins at Donington saw him become the 47th rider ever to have won a British Superbike race.
Ray’s two wins saw him follow in the footsteps of Alex Lowes (2012) and Luke Mossey and Jake Dixon (both 2017), all of whom’s first BSB wins were doubles.
Leon Haslam recorded his 82nd career BSB podium, the sixth highest of all-time, when he took second in the second race at Donington two weeks ago.
Third and fourth place finishes at the opening round saw Dan Linfoot score 29 points, his second best start to a season – his best, also at Donington Park, was in 2015 when he scored 33 points.
Josh Brookes made his 200th BSB start in the second race at Donington Park.
Luke Mossey made his 75th BSB start in the second race at Donington Park.
Glenn Irwin made his 50th BSB start in the second race at Donington Park.
Team-mate Shane Byrne will make his 350th BSB start in the opening race this weekend.
Leon Haslam’s only BSB on the Indy circuit was in the opening race of 2016.
Josh Brookes has never won a race on the circuit.
Luke Mossey did the double on the Brands Indy circuit last year, his only two BSB wins to date. He led 45 of the 60 laps with James Ellison (10) and Leon Haslam (5) the only other riders to lead.
Ellison claimed pole position for last year’s first race with a lap of 44.728s, the fastest ever lap on two wheels around the Indy circuit.
Ellison also set the fastest lap in race one, 45.284s. Shane Byrne set the fastest lap in race two, with a lap of 45.436s.
The ideal lap for the entire weekend was 44.492s with the fastest sectors recorded by Mossey (sector one, 17.717s), Byrne (sector two, 12.163s) and Ellison (sector three, 14.612s).
The fastest rider through the start and finish line speed trap all weekend was Christian Iddon, with 167.7mph being recorded in race one.
Mossey (two wins), and Haslam and Iddon (a second and third apiece) were the only riders to finish on the podium in the two races last year.
Mossey scored the most points, with a maximum of 50, followed by Haslam and Iddon (both 36), Linfoot (21), Jason O’Halloran (20) and Brookes (19).
Jake Dixon’s 13th place finish in last year’s opening race was his worst points-scoring position of 2017.
Byrne has taken the most wins (7) on the Brands Hatch Indy circuit, followed by John Reynolds (5), Ellison (4) and Sean Emmett, Steve Hislop, Ryuichi Kiyonari, and Gregorio Lavilla (all 3).
Byrne and Reynolds have the most podiums (13) followed by Ellison and Michael Rutter (9), Emmett and Chris Walker (8) and Hislop (7).
Brookes’ tally of four podiums at the Indy circuit is his lowest figure for circuits still on the BSB calendar.
Byrne had double victories in both 2008 and 2014 whilst other riders to have taken doubles are James Whitham and Terry Rymer (both 1996), Steve Hislop (2002), Ryuichi Kiyonari (2005), Gregorio Lavilla (2007), Ellison (2015) and Mossey (2017).
The most successful manufacturer at the Indy circuit is Ducati with 19 wins followed by Kawasaki (9), Yamaha (7) and Suzuki and Honda (both 6)
Kawasaki-mounted riders have won eight out of the last ten BSB races held on the Indy circuit; prior to that, they’d only won one race (Chris Walker in 1998) between 1996 and 2012.
Suzuki’s last win at the circuit was in 2010 with Tommy Hill.
Honda’s last win at the circuit was in 2012 with Jon Kirkham.
Yamaha’s last win at the circuit was in 2013 with James Ellison.
Ducati’s last win was in 2016 with Shane Byrne.
