SP125/ FAB-Racing’s Bradley Ray took his third Monster Energy Motostar race victory in his third race finish of the year, passing Luke Hedger on the last lap.
Ray’s team-mate Jordan Weaving took the holeshot but his lead was short lived as he tucked the front and crashed out at Hawthorn on the first lap. Reigning Champion Kyle Ryde then joined his fellow Red Bull Rookie in the gravel as he had a high speed highside on the exit of Clearways.
This left the battle for the win down to Hedger and Ray. It was the Championship leader, Hedger, who held the lead up until the penultimate corner of Stirlings. Hedger ran wide allowing Ray to slip under the inside and take the win. Hedger, however, is still the Championship leader with an advantage of 44 points over Ray.
Behind the leaders, Tarran Mackenzie came home ahead of RS Racing’s Catherine Green to take his second podium of the year. Joe Irving, aboard the e3 Motorsport Honda, eventually got the better of Phillip Wakefield and Callum Bey in a race long battle for fifth.
Banks Racing’s Joe Francis got eighth ahead of Arnie Shelton and Ryan Watson on the Appleyard Macadam KR Seel.
