Airwaves Yamaha team boss Colin Wright reckons riders James Ellison and Leon Camier have got to hit the ground running at this weekend's Brands Hatch British Superbike round because of reduced practice time.
The three-race weekend, which is a first for the series, means the final free practice session on Saturday has been cut to 20 minutes on Saturday morning, so Wright believes his riders have to be at the front from Friday.
"We have to hit the ground running on Friday morning and be right at the front because of the new format this weekend," said Wright, talking to bikesportnews.com this morning.
"We aren't going to do anything differently but with 25 minutes less practice than usual we have to be on the pace straightaway, especially as Hydrex and Suzuki will come out fighting at the same time."
