BRANDS TEST CONFIRMS LINFOOT'S FITNESS

NW200 Yamaha's Dan Linfoot tested a stock Yamaha R6 at Brands Hatch yesterday and it confirmed that his broken foot has healed sufficiently to race at the Kent track next weekend.

Linfoot, who had thought he might have to miss the upcoming British Supersport round, rode Pat McDougal's Beowulf National Superstock bike and despite having to alter his left-foot position reckons there's no problem.

"I saw Dr Costa at the Donington MotoGP round and he said to get the cast off and get some movement in my foot so I have done that. I was fine on Pat's bike yesterday and the only problem I have is resting my foot on the left peg," said Linfoot, talking to bikesportnews.com from the passenger seat of James Westmoreland's '57 Chevy.

"All I need to do is just rest my foot at a different angle on the bike and I will be fine. I am up for a good scrap at Brands. The rest of the boys have had a couple more rounds than me but there's no reason I won't be back near the top of the pile by the time we get to qualifying."
