MCE British Superbike boss Stuart Higgs would welcome Josh Brookes and Sylvain Guintoli back into the championship as it would strengthen an already impressive potential 2017 line-up.
Both reigning champ Brookes and Guintoli look unlikely to secure competitive rides in World Superbikes this year for one bizarre reason or another so British Superbikes could be an avenue to explore.
“We are constantly working to make BSB a bigger and better experience for fans, and to keep it at the forefront of Superbike racing. We already have an extraordinarily strong field of riders who provide fantastic entertainment every race weekend,” Higgs told bikesportnews.com this morning.
“Of course, it would be a great opportunity to welcome back Josh - the current champion - and Sylvain to add to the championship strength. I would actively encourage them to give it serious consideration.”
Those two names added to a list that will more than likely include Shane Byrne, Leon Haslam, James Ellison, Michael Laverty, Jason O’Halloran and Dan Linfoot, to name but a few, would make 2017 the most dramatic in BSB history.
