Gearlink Kawasaki's Alastair Seeley stormed to Motorpoint British Supersport victory after fighting off both Stuart Easton and Graeme Gowland in an epic middle-weight encounter.
Stuart Easton took the holeshot from the front row and was quickly joined at the front by Seton Yamaha's Graeme Gowland. The pair were then joined by Alastair Seeley but the championship leader then made an error. Through the right hander of Sheene curve, the Northern Irishmen ran in too deep and hit the grass, sitting up and dropping back to sixth place as a result.
Seeley recovered well, however, setting the fastest lap of the race and passing Ben Wilson and Jason O'Halloran before catching the leading duo within three laps. The trio swapped places on numerous occasions but as they came through on to the last lap it was Easton who led from Gowland and Seeley.
Gowland was the first to make a move, diving underneath Easton at Paddock Hill Bend but he didn't hold it for long, with Easton and Seeley moving past him at Surtees. The trio were three abreast down the back straight and easton held his nerve, the last to brake and therefore, the first in with Seeley following closely.
With two corners remaining, Seeley took the lead at Stirlings but Easton hadn't given up, and looked to beat Seeley in the drag to the flag but it wasn't to be, with Seeley taking the victory by just 0.004 of a second and extending his championship advantage back to forty points.
Seton Yamaha's Graeme Gowland held on to take his first podium of the year ahead of Ben Wilson and Jason O'Halloran. Cup leader Jake Dixon took sixth and the cup win with Smiths Triumph's Billy McConnell and Glen Richards coming home seventh and eighth. Rounding out the top ten was Luke Jones and Taylor Mackenzie.
