BSB: BRIGHT END OF SEASON FOR FROST

Buf Triumph's Rob Frost ended his 2008 British Supersport campaign with Buff Racing on a high note by riding to a triumphant fifth place in the final round of the series at Brands Hatch on Sunday.

Frosty was in fine form all weekend and in a damp first qualifying session he was the fastest rider out there. But once the morning fog had been blown away the track dried and the pace hotted up.  Although Frosty rode well he could not quite match the pace of the front-runners and dropped back to claim a second row start in sixth place for Sunday’s 25-lap final affair.

Getting away to a good start, Frosty settled into fourth place just behind world Supersport rider Josh Brookes. He challenged for a while but the world class rider was just that bit too quick for him and the top three riders began to steadily pull away leaving Frost to battle it out at the front of a group of six riders all intent on overtaking him.

A monumental battle for supremacy followed with Frosty heading the group and, knowing that one wrong move could spell disaster for him and the Buff Racing Triumph; he put on a display of brilliance that took the eye of the commentator and featured prominently in the television coverage.

Eventually James Westmoreland forced his way past leaving Frost to fall into the clutches of James Webb. But the Lincolnshire ace was having none of it and rode defensively through the final few laps to take the chequered flag for his best result of the year crossing the line in fifth place.

This result seals his 10th place in the championship on 63 points and almost certainly means that Buff Racing will retain him for next year.
