Leon Haslam continued his impressive pace in Free Practice Two as he ended Day One of the 2025 season on top.
At the end of Free Practice Two at Round One of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship, it was Leon Haslam on top. The 2018 British Superbike Champion had a 0.041-second advantage over the field at the end of Practice.
Bradley Ray remained in second place and appears to be Haslam's closest challenger after the two Practice sessions. The Raceways Yamaha rider was hot on Haslam's heels but could not jump him.
Charlie Nesbitt ended the day as the top Honda rider on board the MasterMac Honda. It was a good Saturday for Nesbitt as he started the day in seventh and ended it in third.
Kyle Ryde was able to move up the order in the second session on the OMG Nitrous Competitions Racing Yamaha. The reigning Champion started the day in 10th but ended it in fourth place.
It was a last-lap effort that saw Glenn Irwin secure a place in Q2 on Sunday after he was lingering outside of the top 12. The Hager PBM Ducati rider ended the day in fifth place as the second Ducati rider.
DAO Racing Honda was able to take sixth and seventh places on the timesheets. It was Josh Brookes in sixth and Lee Jackson in seventh.
The top BMW at the end of Day One was the Bathams AJN Racing BMW rider, Storm Stacey. However, due to issues in Free Practice Two, he was not able to improve his lap time from Free Practice One.
After an impressive pre-season, it has been an interesting first day for Danny Kent and the McAMS Yamaha squad. The 2015 Moto3 World Championship ended Practice in ninth place on the combined times.
Completing the top ten was Christian Iddon and the AJN Steelstock Kawasaki team. Iddon was able to improve his lap time in Free Practice Two, but ended up falling down the order from ninth to tenth.
