Airwaves Yamaha team boss Colin Wright has said that Leon Camier didn't pull off the track on the last lap of British Superbike race two because he got his signal flags confused and was disqualified from his first-pace finish.
Camier's bike was seen to be smoking by race control on the final circuit and he was shown a black flag with an orange spot, which means get off the track at the earliest opportunity. Camier got it mixed up with a solid black flag which means you can finish the lap. The Kent youngster was excluded from the result.
"Leon got his flags confused and thought he could finish the lap. He was disqualifed but if he would have pulled off he wouldn't have got any points anyway," said Wright, talking to bikesportnews.com this evening.
"We haven't found anything wrong with the bike so don't know what was causing the problem. Sometimes you get the luck, sometimes you don't. We had some at Mallory but it didn't run with us here."
