Cadwell BSB: ‘It has been a fairytale weekend’ – Lowes

Samsung Honda’s Alex Lowes could not have wished for a better MCE British Superbike weekend. Not only did he win race one, but took the victory in a tight race two in the final meeting of the day at his home round of Cadwell Park.

Everything that the Lincolnshire lad did worked in his favour from setting pole on Sunday to clocking a new best evo lap time too, and the 22-year-old has hailed the eighth BSB round as a ‘fairytale'. Race two was not easy for the Derby resident, as Tyco Suzuki's Josh Brookes was never far behind and overtook Lowes on the final lap at Park corner, but the Aussie then crashed seconds later at Mansfield, leaving Lowes on the path to victory.

“It has been a fairytale weekend but fair play to Josh he tried really hard as I was doing good times, and the race was so hard, and when he passed me on the last lap I was like oh no, but I hope he is ok and I am sure that he will come back stronger for Donington,” said Lowes, speaking at the circuit.

“But it is fantastic I want to say thanks to the Samsung Honda team they have been awesome and I couldn’t have asked for much more.”
