CROFT BSB: LOWES MOVES TO CO-ORDIT

Team Co-Ordit’s Sam Lowes even after a difficult day was still the leading Cup rider in the Fuchs-Silkolene British Supersport at Croft in his second weekend riding for the bright yellow team while also taking on World Supersport.
After parting ways with Astro Racing Honda Lowes joined the team at Cadwell Park and for the remaining rounds of the season excluding Silverstone due to his commitments in World Supersport with Echo CRS Grand Prix team.
Talking about the change Lowes said: “I’ve always been around the team, I know the boys and have always got on with them.  I am running the same bike as what I did with Astro just swapped the fairings and of course I still have my personal sponsors. We’ve had problems today, but I felt it coming together at the end of the second session I am sure we will be on it tomorrow.”
Lowes in addition has embraced his World opportunity with both hands and has successfully taken a 18th and 16th place in his first two rounds with the team.  Talking about the experience he said: “World is good, the bike I ride there is a hundred times better than what I ride here but in comparison in the World class all the bikes are good.  Also all the guys are good out there, nobody is a bad rider.”
“The team is awesome, the level of the bike is better and the team’s financial backing is good. I have more to find within myself, but I’m not a million miles off.  Also I have got to learn the tracks as I’ve not been to them before but prior to joining the team I tested the bike at Imola which is where we are for the next round so that's good.”
The current British Cup championship leader didn’t ride at Croft last year and didn't manage many laps on Friday due to the problems, but tomorrow is another day.  Lowes confidence is higher than ever and he has already seen the positive change that racing at European level has made to his riding.  At Brands and Cadwell Park he was immediately running in the top five of the timing sheets instead of top ten and working his way up.

As the season is drawing to an end and Lowes as a rider is strong in both racing scenes, offers for 2010 look positive.  He said: “I am really grateful for being given the chances, then who knows about next year.  If I stay in British I will be staying in Supersport but would need to be on a better package as in machinery and running for the championship.  If the World thing comes off then I would have to go, you can’t turn it down.  I am 19 on Monday so I am still young to prove myself and it would be a great opportunity.”
