CROFT BSB: MOSSEY KEEPS TITLE CHASE ALIVE

Sabre Sport’s Luke Mossey took another, yet lonely race win in the Metzeler National Superstock 600 at Croft ahead of Jamie Hamilton of Gearlink Kawasaki’s who could have tied up the title this weekend but with Mossey taking the win this continues to Silverstone.
It was Jamie Hamilton who took the lead into the first corner followed by Mossey and Luke Stapleford of Buildbase Bournemouth Kawasaki.  There was action on the first lap when Nick Clark of Linxcel-Seton Tuning came into contact with Cody Nally of MAP Raceways who both came into contact with Ben Padgett of Padgetts Autorama.  Padgetts race was immediately over and eventually the other two riders who continued also did not make the finish line.

Back at the front it wasn’t long until Mossey took the lead on lap one and gradually along with Hamilton they pulled away slightly.  It was Mossey who continued to pull even more of a gap to have a lonely race and take the win by 2.5s.
It was quite a tame race for the category and mostly there positions in the race were where they finished.  It was a more interesting battle going on for fourth to sixth.  On the first lap it was Johnny Blackshaw of Team HARIBO Starmix who was having a great ride and who only slipped slightly down the order to seventh overall.
In amongst the mix was Jonathan of Bell Yamaha Racing who held his fifth position for a while before taking eighth overall.  In the bunch of five riders and as some riders went back it was Nikki Coates of MAP Raceways along with Jesse Trayler of MSS Colchester Kawasaki who caught peopls attention by working their way up through the order to take foruth and fifth by the end of the 14 laps.
Luke Jones of MAP Raceways had a disappointing weekend after finishing ninth losing his second place in the overall standings to Mossey and his chance of battling for the title in the remaining two rounds, but there are still two more podium positions up for grabs.
