www.bikesportnews.com’s Bruce Dunn finishes a solid 11th in his first ever race in the KTM Super Duke Battle at the drenched Leicesteshire circuit.
After starting mid-pack in 11th Dunn gained a place by the end of lap one, but due to the slippy conditions dropped down to 15th by the end of lap two. Even though he was aided by a couple of fallers Bruce found his rhythm and steadily progressed back through the grid to return to his starting position.
Dunn said: “I was out the seat at every other corner due to the wet conditions, it was really slippy. I settled in half way through, but it was moving around. You get to the point with guest rides where you want to just finish.”
Talking about his fellow competitors, he said: “You have got to give credit to the guys regular to the series, I feel I was given a wet riding lesson by the other guys. I feel there is a wet weather knack to riding it that I have yet to get. It shows and highlights the pace of the guys in championship and how highly competitive it is.”
Regarding the bike and his experience so far, Dunn said: 'The bike is perfect, bit heavier than the 250 but it's great. The technique that the other guys have is right on it. I am overwhelmed with it and I am looking forward tomorrow.”
Check back tomorrow to see Fenweasel's race two performance...
