Easton tests out new engine spec and fuel tank in Spain

PBM Kawasaki’s Stuart Easton has finished his Pro-Test at Cartagena on a positive note and has been using his time at the Spanish track to play with a new fuel tank and engine specification. The Scot is hoping to take forward the improvements he has made to his machine when the team travel to Donington for the official MCE British Superbike test in a few weeks time.

For Easton lap times are not a priority for him, he just wants to be consistent and is already planning for the opening BSB round at Donington next month. He is remaining with Paul Bird and Co and is quietly confident that he can make an impact this season, as he has already bettered his lap time that he set last year at the Spainsh track.

“We are here for testing and we have got some new parts to try. We are running a different engine spec today and we have already introduced a new fuel tank, but we still have a lot of work to do. I feel good on the bike and happy with the new changes that we have made,” said Easton, speaking to bikesportnews.com.

“Lap times are important, but for me there’s a balance between being consistent and working with the bike, and working with the changes we have made - but times are not the be all and end all. As long as I am happy with the modifications then that is what’s important.

“I think these changes will work for the first round at Donington and I am already faster than I was at Cartagena last year, so the bike is better. I hope this year will be good for me, and hope I can go under the radar and get my work done in the tests. I feel quietly confident and excited for the season.”
