Fan favourite Karl Harris proved there's life in the old dog yet by bagging a seventh place in the opening MCE British Superbike race at Cadwell Park on Monday and then following it up with a ninth in race two despite having little rear grip.
The former multiple British Supersport Champion jumped on the Quattro Kawasaki at Brands Hatch - the first time he had ridden one for 12 months - and then spent most of the Cadwell round challenging for top-five finishes.
“This weekend has been mega, I was disappointed in race two, as I struggled with rear tyre grip from the off. After my finish in race one, I was determined to get a top five finish the secine. I was pushing the bike as hard as I dared, but had several near high-sides, one in particular at Barn, which saw me lose out a place to Pete Hickman," said Harris.
“The bike is performing well. We just need to change the bottom power range of the engine, so I have a little more punch coming out of the corners. Donington is a great circuit and I can’t wait to get there.”
