Fan favourite Karl Harris has signed a new deal with the PR Kawasaki team and will remain with them in the MCE British Superbike Championship next year.

The former multiple British Supersport Champion joined the squad halfway through last season when they found themselves without a lead rider and enjoyed instant success. A broken hand at Donington set the forthright Yorkshireman back but he was soon back in the saddle and fighting for big points.

"I really enjoyed my time with the team and I was more than ready to go back for a second season. The boys are mint and we had some good results right from the off this year," said Harris, speaking to bikesportnews.com last night.

"Without any real testing it was a massive learning curve for all involved. By signing for the team for next season, I feel we are in a much stronger position than most teams on the grid, as we have already been through the hard part of setting the bike up to suit my riding style, which we know we were getting right, as we had such a good finish towards the end of the season.

"My hand is all sorted now so it will be nice to go into the winter with the deal under my belt and some great personal sponsors on board."
