Swan Yamaha boss Shaun Muir isn't ready to give up his spot in the British Superbike paddock just yet even though the clock his ticking for his current title sponsor to sign up for another year.
Muir, whose business SMR run the team in Swan colours, say sthat he has other title sponsor irons in the fire should the fag paper company not re-sign but may continue onwards as Yamaha Racing.
"Put simply, SMR want to continue, Swan may continue but there is no agreement on that yet and the deciding factor is that although we have structure and a team that want to carry on, until we have complete funding, we won’t," said Muir, speaking to bikesportnews.com.
"My view going forward is I still want to be involved in racing and I’m not going to throw in the towel yet just because I haven’t got a confirmed title sponsor. As it stands today, if Swan choose not to continue, I’ve got plenty of irons in the fire that will let us go racing and I am happy to have lots of sponsorship on the team, i.e. not a title sponsor, maybe Yamaha racing in association with…, so to speak."
