MSS Colchester Kawasaki's Simon Andrews discovered this morning he has broken the scaphoid bone in his left hand following an X-ray at the Knockhill medical centre.
The Evesham man believes the injury stems from a practice crash at Snetterton a couple of weeks ago. Andrews will need to undergo surgery on the bone but hasn't yet decided when to go under the knife.
"My wrist has been a bit sore for the past month or so and after having some physio this morning, I had it X-rayed at the track medical centre," said Andrews, talking to bikesportnews.com this afternoon.
"I must have done it when I slipped off in testing at Snetterton. It will need to be operated on, probably sooner rather than later. I had a broken hand here last year. Maybe this track doesn't like me."
