KNOCKHILL BSB: HASLAM SPLASHES TO WET POLE

HM Plant Honda's Leon Haslam has paddled his way to pole position for tomorrow's British Superbike round at Knockhill, fending off late charges from both Michael Rutter and Michael Laverty.
The 24-year-old has been praying for a return to form and hopefully this afternoon's performance will kickstart the second half of his season.
Rainman Rutter, as he hates to be called, took second on the grid on the NW200 after topping the timesheets with 15 minutes to go and Airwaves Ducati's Shane Byrne is third after being fastest man for much of the session.
Haslam's team-mate Cal Crutchlow looked set to round out the front row until a last-lap lunge saw the Relentless Suzuki of Michael Laverty bust him down to the head of row two.
In a surprisingly crash-free 50 minutes, Leon Camier held on for a sixth place while Rizla Suzuki's Tom Sykes couldn't re-create this morning's form and finds himself down in seventh. James Ellison, who crashed yesterday is eighth.
After putting in some good times this morning, Scott Smart will be disappointed to find himself a long way down the order in 18th, one place ahead of Simon Andrews, who is riding snapped.
