Tyco Suzuki's Josh Brookes made a couple of errors in the final part of today's British Superbike qualifying at Knockhill but the Bringelly man still managed to bag third place for tomorrow's opening race.
The Australian put in his fastest lap of the weekend so far to occupy the outside of the front row but says that a couple of small mistakes prevented him from going any faster.
"The first couple of laps of that final session were tricky over the kerbs as they were still wet. The surface was completely dry and I put in my fastest lap of the weekend so far, but riding over those kerbs made me a bit nervous. I’m happy to be on the front row here but also a bit frustrated that I kept making tiny mistakes, which stopped me from stringing a perfect lap together," said Brookes.
"In saying that I’m not sure if I would have gone faster than the two men in front of me. In both the wet and dry I’m confident and we’re improving our set up all the time and I’m getting good feedback from the bike where the grip is – so yeah we’re ready for tomorrow now.”
