KNOCKHILL BSB: SMART PRAYING FOR DRY WEEKEND

Hawk Kawasaki's Scott Smart is ready to take on the factory boys at this weekend's Knockhill round of the British Superbike Championship and is praying for a dry weekend.

The 33-year-old former British 250GP champ has had a lot of race wins at the Scottish track in everything from Superteens to Superbikes and held the 250cc lap record there for about 78 years.

"It's a good track and it has always been good to me," said Smart. "We could really do with a fully dry weekend to get some proper settings for the rest of the season, as we haven't as yet had one where it hasn't rained at least once.

"I'm looking forward to it as the crowd there is always big and they appreciate the spectacle of superbikes."
Even though Smart wants it dry, the Kent man is usually a good bet in wet races where horsepower no longer matters and it's how well the rider works with the package he has got that sorts the men from the boys.
Smart said: "I don't particularly like riding in the rain, who does? But I am usually there or thereabouts if the track is properly wet. What we don't need is another weekend where it's on and off."
