KNOCKHILL BSB: WHAT WE HAVE LEARNED SO FAR

Stuart Easton has said he hopes to be back and fully fit for the Cadwell British Superbike round in a couple of weeks' time. The Scot tried to ride in Friday's free practice but found his injured wrist just wasn't strong enough to manhandle the MSS Kawasaki.

Happy birthday to Nick Morgan, MSS team boss. As the sorely-missed Ronnie Smith used to say, it's Nick Morgan: small m, big organ...

Hydrex Honda's James Ellison reckons he couldn't see through most of qualifying as his visor constantly misted up. He said: "Just towards the end of the session we were getting into the 53's (seconds) and I just couldn't see so I came in and changed the visor but it was just the same. We've made so many changes on the bike and it's much better and I'm really comfortable but I just couldn't see! I think I could have been on the front row if it wasn't for that problem."
Both Tena for Men Honda riders Michael Howarth and Tristan Palmer appear to be massive Facebook addicts. How long did it take the team-mates from the end of Saturday free practice to de-brief their pit crew, get changed, take on vital fluids and be on the social networking site? Ten minutes...

Dan Linfoot has been drafted in to the Centurion Honda team in place of the injured Dan Cooper, who dislocated his shoulder and knocked himself out in a collision with Embassy Triumph's Paul Young yesterday. Linfoot is currently looking for a ride for 2009, so is he headed Mr Rees' way..?

Veteran Supersport rider Rob Frost is enjoying something of a recent resurgence with a good showing in World Supersport at Brands Hatch, and mixing it with the top boys at Knockhill on his Buff Triumph. You can insert your own crashing jokes.
Injured Lloyds British Jentin Yamaha rider Simon Andrews, who has twisted, pulled or punctured most of his body in the last 10 days, said that he now looks like Hellboy after qualifying. His team have had to wrap some hosing round the handlebar grip to help him cling on.
Improvised grip for Andrews

Suzuki’s triple British Superbike Champion, John Reynolds, was the guest of honour today at the wedding of John Burns and Sandra Bennett at the Knockhill race track in Scotland. The couple from Newtownards in Northern Ireland are huge motorcycle race faces and were thrilled when John arrived at their wedding to wish them well. Knockhill was the first motorcycle race that the couple attended in 1996 so it was a fitting venue for their marriage.
Erstwhile and rapid journo Alistar Fagan has us all confused. This morning, he was riding in the KTM Super Duke Battle for TWO magazine. Which we thought was strange for two reasons: a) he works for Fast Bikes and b) Niall Mackenzie was meant to be riding for TWO, the publication for which he works. This afternoon, however, Fagan was back working for Fast Bikes, and there was no sign of Mackenzie on the KTM for TWO. Unless he has gone to work for Performance Bikes. It is good to see, however, that JP is still with the stout fellows (and none stouter than Mr Dowds) at Superbike. Probably.
A mystery solved. British Supersport Cup rider David Hallett, who managed to crash just seconds before the red flags came out in today's race, is called Monkey Boy. The reason for this, we are reliably informed, is that he has a total inability to not fall out of the trees once he has climbed them...
Alistar Fagan update: Still working for Fast Bikes, according to the results sheet issued at 18.27pm on Sunday.
