Yorkshire kebab skewer Dan Linfoot has penned a deal with GBmoto Honda and will ride alongide Peter Hickman in the 2013 MCE British Superbike Championship.
Linfoot, along with supposed team-mate Florian Marino, was ejected from the MSD R-N Kawasaki World Supersport squad last week, and told bikesportnews.com at Motorcycle Live he was facing a year without racing.
But after a conversation with GBmoto boss Mark Smith-Halvorsen, Linfoot will be back in BSB and has high hopes of a successful return.
"After the Kawasaki deal fell apart for both Florian and I, it was looking pretty bleak, I will admit. I had kept in touch with a few BSB teams and had a conversation with Mark at the bike show," said Linfoot, speaking to bikesportnews.com this morning.
"Subsequently, we had further meeting and I am very pleased to say I will be riding for his team in 2013. We both have very similar expectations next year. Mark is very results-driven and I see myself as a Showdown performer.
"I will have the very experienced Matt Llewellyn as a crew chief. He has been there and done it, and got some great results with WFR in 2012 so we should be able to hit the ground running, especially with John Trigger fettling the engines."
