Worx Suzuki's Tommy Hill remains at the top of the British Superbike timesheets at Mallory Park this afternoon, continuing his form the first session and managing to keep Hydrex Honda's Karl Harris at bay.
Hill went two tenths faster than his time from session one, lapping at 56.227 while Harris was a little under half a second slower with a 56.591, which was faster than his first outing.
The shock of the session, however, was the non-appearance of Airwaves Yamaha's Leon Camier. The Kent youngster was second quickest after the opening 50-minutes but did not come out this afternoon. It is believed Camier is suffering mechanical problems.
Camier's team-mate James Ellison was third fastest and hugely improved from his seventh place while Motorpoint Yamaha's Chris Walker rounds out a theoretical front row, half a second in arrears.
Buildbase Kawasaki's John Laverty crossed the line fifth quickest, a good performance on his team's home circuit, while the HM Plant Honda duo of Josh Brookes and Steve Brogan are sixth and seventh.
Julien Da Costa got off the floor after crashing at Charlie's to set the eighth fastest time of 57.003, just two one-thousandths of a second in front of Stuart Easton. Graeme Gowland completes the top 10.
It was a better session for both Michael Rutter and Ian lowry who both managed more than 20 laps to take 11th and 12th respectively while Tommy Bridewell is the leading Superbike Cup runner in 13th, just a second off the fastest laptime.
MSS Colchester Kawasaki's Simon Andrews is way down in 17th place after being fifth quickest earlier on today. The Evesham man is in a lot of pain as he is riding with a broken scaphoid.
