Rizla Suzuki team boss Jack Valentine has said he is not concerned about the legality of his team’s engines and parts ahead of the team’s next British Superbike outing at Croft – despite the works AMA team being thrown out of part of the weekend’s qualifying session at Road Atlanta.
Mat Mladin and Tommy Hayden, who both ride for the factory Rockstar Suzuki team, were thrown out of Friday’s first qualifying session for using illegal crankshafts. And the team is appealing against a decision to exclude Mladin from the previous races, of which he won both, for the same technical infrigement.
“We’re not at all concerned,” said Valentine. “This season Technical Control have already made us do a full strip-down, when along with many other engine parts the crankshaft was inspected and weighed to make sure it was as homolgated.”
The team will be running the standard, BSB-spec motors in Tom Sykes’ GSX-R1000s this weekend at Donington Park’s World Superbike round.
