GBmoto’s Peter Hickman has not had the best of luck over the past MCE British Superbike rounds, and Oulton Park was no exception. The rider experienced clutch issues and a puncture, but did improve on Sunday, finishing both races in twelfth and thirteenth.
The Lincolnshire lad is confident that his luck is changing for the better, and after working on the Honda over the race weekend his team are hopeful that they can take away more points at the next round at Cadwell.
“Another tough weekend, but it is going a lot better. The first couple of rounds have been tough but this weekend we have gone forward every time we went out on the bike, but we have had loads of bad luck. In the first race we had a clutch problem, and we always seem to be finding problems in the race," said Hickman, speaking to bikesportnews.com.
"Then we had a puncture in race two and had to start from pit lane, and then last race the position was not great, but I was only three or four seconds behind sixth, and considering our last two rounds performances this round has been stronger.
“Hopefully we can build on it for Cadwell and we have some ideas on how we can improve. This weekend we have broken through that wall that we have been struggling with, so fingers crossed it works for Cadwell Park.”
